Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Sri Lanka is expected to result in a significant defense agreement between the two nations, as reported by Indian media.
The defense cooperation agreement aims to re-establish security ties between India and Sri Lanka, which were strained following the intervention of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka during the 1980s, according to the Hindustan Times.
Under the agreement, both countries will share sensitive security information and collaborate to enhance security in the Indian Ocean region.
The visit will also focus on strengthening physical, energy, and digital connectivity between the two countries.
