The highly anticipated Tooth Relic Exposition, which will take place after 16 years, is set to begin tomorrow. President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka will inaugurate the exposition at 12:30 PM today.
The public can pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic today from 3:30 PM to 5 PM. Starting tomorrow, the exposition will be open daily from 12 PM to 5 PM. At least 200,000 people are expected to attend the exposition.
Kandy and Matale Deputy Inspector General of Police Sudath Masinghe stated that dignitaries will not be treated in special queues or VIP treatment during the exposition, emphasizing that devotees will receive 98% of the priority.
However, a three-hour window has been allocated today for dignitaries, including government officials, a limited number of monks, and foreign ambassadors. This contradicts the DIG’s statement, as a 2% allocation for dignitaries would equate to approximately 40,000 individuals.
Meanwhile, a special link has been introduced to help devotees locate the ends of the three queues leading to the Temple of the Tooth. The link is: https://daladadekma.police.lk/roads
