Vavuniya – Selvarajah Kajendran, General Secretary of the Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF), launched a scathing attack on Selvam Adaikalanathan for supporting the Sri Lankan government’s budget, which includes the controversial Lower Malwathu Oya project.
Kajendran accused Adaikalanathan of betraying the Tamil nation by endorsing the state-sponsored settlement of 1,500 Sinhala families in the Tamil district of Vavuniya. He called on the Tamil people to rally behind uncompromising Tamil nationalist leaders and to reject those who enable Sinhala colonization.
Kajendran also criticized the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) for its role in enabling Sinhala settlements and denounced Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for his alleged support of war crimes. He declared that the Tamil national question cannot be resolved within a unitary state and called for the establishment of Tamil self-rule.
